PAINT MEDIUM NO.1 |
This medium is to be used for the first sketch on the canvas - the underpainting, fast drying with a matte finish. |
PAINT MEDIUM NO.2 |
A medium for thinning oil colours, it imparts a satin finish and dries to a tough elastic film. |
PAINT MEDIUM NO. 3 |
A medium to be used from start to finish of a painting, it is a quick drying medium which may be thinned with gum turpentine. |
CLEAR OIL PAINT |
Designed to extend tubed oil paint and excellent for thick impasto, it can be built up to 3 cm without cracking, it can be used in conjunction with dry pigments, and can be thinned down with gum turpentine. |
GLAZE MEDIUM |
This medium will give the user properties superior to any other available. It can be used to return the wet look to dry paint as it imparts sheen to the paint; it is also relatively fast drying. |
THIXO MEDIUM |
This is an excellent underpainting medium, drying to a completely transparent tough elastic film. It dries quickly which enables layers of thin paint to be built up to give amazing transparencies similar to way of the old masters. |
WAX MEDIUM |
This is a mallable form of beeswax which retains brush strokes and knife marks for use when translucent impasto effects are desired. Dry pigments that have been wetted down may be added to the wax medium and used as a traditional encaustic technique. |
DAMAR VARNISH |
Damar varnish is prepared from imported crystallised tree resins and has a slightly yellowish tone caused by the leaves, bark and other impurities, traditionally used as a final picture varnish. |
STANDLIN OIL |
Stand oil is ordinary linseed oil which has been heat thickened. It is relatively quick drying and imparts a gloss. |
WOOD TURPENTINE |
Wood turpentine is distilled Mineral turpentine widely used for the carpenter industry. |
ACRYLIC ART GESSO |
Used as a primer for acrylic boards, should be applied in several thin coats rather than one thick one |
ACRYLIC ART GESSO NO.2 |
This is also used as a primer but is a cheaper version of the normal art Gesso, sometimes takes more than one coat. |
OIL BASED GESSO |
Based on traditional underpainting grounds, this oil primer provides the user with a completely permanent product. Very slow drying, driers are usually added. |
TITANIUM IN OIL |
This white oil paint offers artists using large amounts of white to be able to purchase large quantities at a reasonable price. It is a mixture of Titanium in Linseed oil |
ARTIST ACRYLIC CLEAR |
Available in Gloss, Satin and Matt finishes. Used as a clear finish for water based paintings, ceramic items etc. |
OIL MATT MEDIUM |
This is an oil based Matt medium to be used with oil based products |
LINSEED OIL |
To be used as a medium on its own or as an additive to furniture polish. |
NEATSFOOT OIL |
Neatsfoot oil is used to soak natural hair brushes in order to keep them supple. |
GOLD SIZE |
This is a slow drying clear varnish used extensively for Gilding (Pure Gold application) |
